The City of Oshawa is committed to harnessing city data to drive community-focused service delivery improvements. Efforts over the past few years have resulted in Oshawa being awarded Platinum certification for 2018 by the World Council on City Data.

The City’s Open Data portal is available to the public. The available data sets will allow members of the public to access raw, digital, machine-readable information free of charge to foster innovation, stimulate economic growth, improve government service delivery and increase internal efficiencies.

Initial data sets that are available have been organized under four main categories:

  • Land Use: City’s parcel and property fabric, street network, zoning and existing land use data, Parking facilities in the downtown area, including on-street, service lots and parking garages;
  • Animal Services: statistics, including intake and outcome data;
  • Service Oshawa: service and information requests generated by Service Oshawa; and,
  • Other: housing licences, including two-unit housing registrations and property licences issued under the residential rental housing regulations.

We’d love for you to access the Open Data portal, and then provide feedback on the current data sets and suggestions for future data set considerations on Connect Oshawa.
