Electors will cast their votes on Monday, October 22, 2018 to elect the representatives who will shape the City of Oshawa over the next four years in the municipal and school board elections.
Oshawa Municipal and School Board Elections
The City of Oshawa is divided into five wards for election purposes. A ward is a defined area which is used to elect representatives to Council. On Voting Day, voters will elect:
One candidate for Regional Chair, who is the head of Council of the Region of Durham and will be elected region-wide;
One candidate for Mayor, who will be elected city-wide;
One candidate for Regional and City Councillor, who will be elected from their ward; and,
One candidate for City Councillor, who will be elected from their ward.
The number of offices for the office of School Board Trustee/ Conseiller(ère) varies between each board. For:
Durham District School Board, electors will cast their ballot for up to three Trustees;
Durham Catholic District School Board, electors will cast their ballot for up to two Trustees;
Conseil scolaire Viamonde, electors will cast their ballot for one Conseiller(ère); and,
Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir, electors will cast their ballot for one Conseiller(ère).
