This consultation has concluded.
The City of Oshawa wants to know if you would be interested in taking a skate outside! Oshawa City Council has directed staff to gauge the community’s appetite for a seasonal, refrigerated outdoor rink that, weather permitting, would be open annually from December to March.
Community members are invited to share their level of interest in a seasonal, refrigerated outdoor rink by:
contacting Service Oshawa at 905-436-3311 during regular business hours to request a paper version of the feedback form.
Residents of Oshawa aged 18+ who complete the feedback form and provide their postal code, name and email or phone number, can choose to be entered into a draw for a $50.00 credit towards City of Oshawa Recreation & Culture Services, subject to the terms and conditions of the draw found online on Connect Oshawa.
Feedback will be received until 12:00 p.m. February 14, 2022, and considered in the development of a report to Community Services Committee in 2022.
If approved, the seasonal, refrigerated outdoor rink would be built next to an existing Oshawa recreation facility with ice pads. The only two facilities with ice pads that also have space for a seasonal, refrigerated outdoor rink are Delpark Homes Centre (1661 Harmony Road North) and Donevan Recreation Complex (171 Harmony Road South). Oshawa City Council will determine the location at a later date should they decide to proceed with this project.
Additional details and total estimated capital costs are available in Reports CS-21-93 and CS-21-117.
