Consultation has concluded
The City of Oshawa is inviting residents to share their feedback on two proposed outdoor facility projects:
The development of a shared, multi-use sports field facility, including a running track, lighting and off-street parking at Monsignor John Pereyma Catholic Secondary School. This project has been proposed as a partnership between the City of Oshawa and the Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB), and if approved, the organizations would work together to complete the outlined work.
The construction of a new baseball diamond as part of an upgrade to Conant Park (adjacent to the new multi-use sports field facility including lighting identified in project 1). If approved, this project would be undertaken by the City of Oshawa independently.
A Public Open House will be held Wednesday, March 8 between 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Monsignor John Pereyma Catholic Secondary School (316 Conant St., Oshawa). Staff from both the City of Oshawa and DCDSB will present proposed project details and plans from 6:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., following which an informal Question & Answer period will begin.
Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss and provide feedback on both projects directly with staff, as well as document their opinions in a survey.
Feedback will also be accepted here, on Connect Oshawa, until Monday, March 20.
Feedback received will be presented to Community Services Committee on Thursday, April 20, 2017 and will be considered in the decision as to whether or not this project is approved and will move forward.
