The Oshawa community is invited to review and comment on the Draft Neighbourhood Traffic Management Guide (N.T.M.G.). The Draft N.T.M.G. identifies new processes for selecting the most appropriate traffic management tools for residential City streets based on best practices from comparable cities and input received from the community.
Key items included in the Draft N.T.M.G. are:
a new process for reviewing and implementing traffic management in residential neighbourhoods;
a policy for determining where in the city traffic management should be prioritized;
best practices for designing safe roadways in new neighbourhoods;
a toolbox of traffic management measures that can be utilized to improve traffic safety; and,
a policy for 40 km/h areas and Community Safety Zones.
Alternatively, community members can request a paper version of the Draft Neighbourhood Traffic Management Guide, presentation slides and/or feedback form by contacting Service Oshawa at 905-436-3311 during regular business hours.
Feedback will be received until noon on January 24, 2022, and will be reviewed and considered in updates made to the final Neighbourhood Traffic Management Guide.
